Do you have any information on your grandfather such as a name, DOB, place of birth? Any additional information would help.
I have some photos of him in uniform (circa 1900) at a camp of some kind with others in the same uniform. I can't find any military record for him and no one in the family has ever mentioned him being in the service. He did attend a military school for his high school education.

Dear Mr. Hall,
Thank you for posting your request on History Hub!
We searched the National Archives Catalog and located the series Indexes to the Carded Records of Soldiers Who Served in Volunteer Organizations During the Spanish-American War in the Records of the Adjutant General's Office, 1762 - 1917 (Record Group 94) that only included a digitized card titled Kirk, Harry M - State: Tennessee - Regiment: 4 Tennessee Infantry, Company C,H.
In case he is your grandfather, we also located the Carded Records Showing Military Service of Soldiers Who Fought in Volunteer Organizations During the Spanish-American War in Record Group 94. Unfortunately, not all the carded records have been digitized. To request a copy of his non-digitized service record, please download the NATF Form 86, fill it out to the best of your knowledge, and mail the completed form to the address listed on the form. Please include a copy of the digitized card from the Index.
Please note that the National Archives and Records Administration (NARA) has suspended reproduction and digitization services until further notice due to COVID-19. Orders will not be serviced until operations can resume safely. Once operations resume, document reproduction requests will be filled in the order in which they were received. We apologize for any inconvenience.
If you require further assistance with these records, please contact the National Archives at Washington, DC - Textual Reference (RDT1) via email at email@example.com. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic and pursuant to guidance received from the Office of Management and Budget (OMB), NARA has adjusted its normal operations to balance the need of completing its mission-critical work while also adhering to the recommended social distancing for the safety of NARA staff. As a result of this re-prioritization of activities, you may experience a delay in receiving an initial acknowledgement as well as a substantive response to your reference request from RDT1. We apologize for this inconvenience and appreciate your understanding and patience.
For access to personnel records of non-active duty Army National Guard enlisted personnel and officers, please contact the Adjutant General of West Virginia.
We hope this is helpful. Best of luck with your family research!
