Re: Seeking Daniel Hennessey & Mary Ryan
Tamie Dehler Dec 31, 2020 11:09 AM (in response to Julie Howe)You don't mention a time period for these people but if they were living in 1847-64 you should check Griffin's Valuation of Ireland--as close to a census that you will get. It was a survey done for property tax purposes that also listed the tenants working on the land. It is available to search for free on several websites, including http://www.askaboutireland.ie/griffith-valuation/

Julie Howe Jan 3, 2021 10:36 AM (in response to Tamie Dehler)Thank you. I didn't get any hits with my search. All I know is he was born in the early 1800 in Cork. So, older records are maybe what I need.

Dear Ms. Howe,
Thank you for posting your request on History Hub!
We suggest that you consult Irish Genealogy, a website dedicated to Irish genealogy research that is officially supported by Ireland’s Department of Culture, Heritage, and the Gaeltacht. The National Archives of Ireland also has a comprehensive guide on utilizing their collections for genealogical research. In addition, the FamilySearch Research wiki for Ireland Genealogy and Ireland Emigration and Immigration may be useful.
We hope this is helpful. Best of luck with your family research!
