What era are you seeking? WW1, WW2-Korean, Vietnam?
WW2 Abbreviations as follows:
SS (CF)
SS: Selective Service
CF
AD
DD: Detached Duty or Depot Division
DOC: Died of other Causes.
DIS: Disease
SUI: Suicide
DRO: Drowning
IHE

SS is Shell Shock
CF is Casualty Fatigue
IHE is In Hospital Evacuated
DD might be Died of Disease

Putting all of the responses together and adding the last two:
SS (CF) - combo Shell Shock/Combat Fatigue
SS - Shell Shock
CF - Combat Fatigue
AD - might be Accidental Death
DD - might be Died of Disease
DOC - Died other causes
DIS - Disease
SUI - Suicide
DRO - Drowning
IHE - in hospital evacuated
