Seeking jail/court records of Mary Jane & Thomas Conaty

    David Leahy Newbie

Hi, I'm doing some family history research and a couple of my ancestors (husband and wife) were incarcerated in New Haven Jail (Connecticut) for long periods of time from 1882 through to 1923. I visited the Jail in person last year but they told me they don't have records, nor did this State Library in Hartford. Their names are Mary Jane Conaty (formerly Leahy) (1854-1923) and husband Thomas Conaty (1851-1921). They were both born in Ireland (Co Cavan) and arrived in the US in 1882, living in Waterbury, Connecticut.  I've gathered over 70 newspaper references to their offences (mostly drunk in public etc), at Waterbury City Court  and Waterbury District Court under Judge Albert Bradstreet, Judge Cowell and Judge Burpee. Surely the Jail/court records of Waterbury/New Haven must reside somewhere?? Any help would be appreciated as you're my last hope !!
