For many years I exchanged Christmas cards with a John "Bill" Patch of Coarsegold, California in the heart of Yosemite Valley. He passed away about ten years ago of old age. He wrote me a letter in which he mentioned he served in World War II in the US Marine Corps and was a Chemistry teacher in a local high school before he retired. He attached this letter to a copy of an extensive genealogy computer generated report by which he traced his ancestry back to the original settlers from England: William, John and James Patch and a wife Elizabeth. I was then trying to establish my own lineage to the same progenitors. I thought you might be related to the same line of ancestors. I happened to catch your participation in a C-span program last night on WWII submarine warfare and decided I would like to pursue the connection with you by correspondence.
Dear Mr. Patch,
Thank you for posting your request on History Hub!
We will correspond with you via email.
We hope this is helpful.
