Aviators Flight Log Books (OPNAV 3760/31) is a flight by flight record maintained by all aeronautically designated officer personnel and student aeronautical officers. Information recorded in the log includes qualifications and achievements, personnel status changes, summary of total flights, flight record summary for 12 months preceding current log, flight by flight record, flight clothing issue, and mishap and flight rule violations. The log books are the personal property of the aviator.
Command histories for aviation squadrons dated after WWII are in the custody of the Naval Aviation History Branch, Naval History & Heritage Command, 805 Kidder Breese Street, SE, Washington Navy Yard, Washington, DC 20374-5060. Please contact them directly for access to these histories.
There are several online articles that may be of interest such as Records of VR-21; History of VRC-30; Units Stationed at NAS Barbers Point; and VR-21 - Pineapple Airlines.
