Dear Mr. Elie,
Thank you for posting your request on History Hub!
Flight records of separated Army personnel are collected at the time of separation by Army transfer point personnel. These along with the personnel, medical, and dental records are retired to NARA's National Personnel Records Center. Please complete a GSA Standard Form 180 and mail to the Military Personnel Records, National Personnel Records Center, 1 Archives Drive, St. Louis, MO 63138-1002.
Aviators Flight Log Books (OPNAV 3760/31) is a flight-by-flight record maintained by all aeronautically designated officer personnel and student aeronautical officers. Information recorded in the log includes qualifications and achievements, personnel status changes, summary of total flights, flight record summary for 12 months preceding current log, flight-by-flight record, flight clothing issue, and mishap and flight rule violations. The log books are the personal property of the aviator. They are handled as personal effects upon the death of the aviator.
We hope this is helpful. Best of luck with your research!
