Re: Searching for my Bush family history
Susannah Brooks Oct 15, 2020 7:26 PM (in response to Thomas Bush)obituary of Elmer E. Bush from Battle Creek Enquirer 23 mar 1957 p. 8
According to the death certificate of Eugene M. Bush, Elmer's father, he was born in Hartland, Ohio on 21 Aug 1855. His father was Timothy Bush, born in New York, and his mother's maiden name was Mathers (given name & birth place unknown by the informant). According to Timothy M Bush's marriage license record his wife's name was Sarah E Palmer https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/3:1:939K-BGRG-4?i=46&cc=1614804&personaUrl=%2Fark%3A%2F61903%2F1%3A1%3AXZPG-FBP
In the 1860 US Census Timothy M. Bush & his wife Sarah E. and their 10 children, ranging in age from 10 months to 17 years old, lived in Hartland, Huron Co, OH. Timothy & Sarah were both born in NY, but all of their children were born in Ohio. (When researching Timothy Bush, one must be careful, because there is also a Timothy H. Bush, born about the same time in NY and living in Ohio, who is not your ancestor).
Timothy died in 1900 and there is information about his possible parents, spouse, some siblings, and some of his children on findagrave.com https://www.findagrave.com/memorial/21988213/timothy-mather-bush The information on this site about his parents, does not match the names of his parents on his death certificate.https://search.ancestry.com/cgi-bin/sse.dll?dbid=60872&h=2297054&indiv=try&o_vc=Record:OtherRecord&rhSource=60525
