    Seeking Photograph of Linwood Holman

    Roy Martin Newbie

I am searching for a photo of my Great Uncle, Linwood Allen Holman, WWI Veteran and Purchasing Agent in the Hampton Roads (VA.) area for the War Shipping Administration during WWII and the U.S. Maritime Commission. He died on Aug. 4, 1945.

          Dear Mr. Martin,

Thank you for posting your request on History Hub!

Please see our response to your previous inquiry about Linwood Holman during WWI.

We searched the National Archives Catalog and located the series Photographic File of the Maritime Administration, 1939 - 1955 in the Records of the Maritime Administration (Record Group 357) that includes its predecessor agency, the War Shipping Administration. Some of the images have been digitized and are available using the Catalog. For access to the non-digitized photographs, please contact the National Archives at College Park - Still Pictures (RDSS) via email at stillpix@nara.gov.

As a result of this re-prioritization of activities, you may experience a delay in receiving an initial acknowledgement as well as a substantive response to your reference request from RDSS.
