Dear Ms. Garner,
Thank you for posting your request on History Hub!
The Federal Government does not ordinarily create or maintain birth, death, marriage or divorce records. Such records are made and kept by State and local governments rather than the National Archives. As parental names are listed on birth records and often on marriage records, we suggest that you search the Ohio, County Births, 1841-2003 and the Ohio, County Marriages, 1789-2013 FamilySearch indexes for the two daughters. We also suggest that you request a record search from the Erie County Probate Court and from the Ohio Historical Society, Archives Library Division for the family.
Also, please review the FamilySearch Research wiki for Ohio Vital Records.
We hope this is helpful. Best of luck with your family research!

Sandy Garner Sep 29, 2020 8:05 PM (in response to Alice Lane)Thank you for the clip Alice. My 3x great grandfather was a well known Great Lakes master shipbuilder and much has been written about him...with the exception of his wife's name. I've searched all resources in Ohio with no luck. I'll continue to search.

Re: Seeking spouse of Captain Fairbanks Church
Susannah Brooks Sep 30, 2020 1:19 AM (in response to Sandy Garner)If you know the religious affiliation of the family, you might want to look for marriage records either in Connecticut or Ohio for Fairbanks Church, the baptismal records of the two daughters (if they were members of a church that believed in infant baptism), or burial records for the wife.
