Dear Ms. Cruh,
Thank you for posting your request on History Hub!
We searched the National Archives Catalog and located eight series of U.S. Consular Records in the Records of the Foreign Service Posts of the Department of State (Record Group 84) that relate to various locations in Ireland during the early 1900s and may contain some information related to your research. These records have not been digitized. For assistance with or access to these records, please contact the National Archives at College Park - Textual Reference (RDT2) via email at email@example.com.
We also located the Central Decimal Files, 1910 - 1963 in the General Records of the Department of State (Record Group 59) that include 125 file units that pertain to Ireland and riots during the 1920s and 1930s. These records have been digitized and are available using the Catalog.
If you are researching a particular incident or individual, more specific searches of the National Archives Catalog may provide additional results.
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic and pursuant to guidance received from the Office of Management and Budget (OMB), NARA has adjusted its normal operations to balance the need of completing its mission-critical work while also adhering to the recommended social distancing for the safety of NARA staff. As a result of this re-prioritization of activities, you may experience a delay in receiving an initial acknowledgement as well as a substantive response to your reference request from RDT2. We apologize for this inconvenience and appreciate your understanding and patience.
In addition, we searched WorldCat and located 16 archival collections, including correspondence and personal papers, related to riots in Ireland that may be relevant to your research.
Next, we suggest that you contact the National Archives of Ireland, the National Library of Ireland, or the Archives of the Archdiocese of Dublin directly to see if they can offer you any further assistance. Finally, the Association for Church Archives in Ireland has a Directory of Religious Archives in Ireland that may also be helpful.
We hope this is helpful. Best of luck with your research!
