Dear V Hermann,
Thank you for posting your request on History Hub!
We searched the National Archives Catalog and located the series Special Orders of the Prison Camp on Hart Island, New York in the War Department Collection of Confederate Records (Record Group 109) that may contain information about the individual you are researching. We located three additional series in Record Group 109 that include registers and general orders for Hart Island as well. In addition, we located the series Reports, Returns, and Orders Concerning Prisoners Confined at Fort McHenry, Hart Island, Alton, Illinois, and Other Posts from the Records of the Commissary General of Prisoners (Record Group 249) that may be helpful. Plus, we located four series in the Records of U.S. Army Continental Commands (Record Group 383) that pertain to Hart Island. These records have not been digitized. For further information about and for access to these records, please contact the National Archives at Washington, D.C. - Textual Reference (RDT1) via email at archives1reference@nara.gov.
Lastly, we located seven additional series of special orders related to Hart Island and numerous other series related to Hart Island in the Records of the Provost Marshal General’s Bureau (Civil War) (Record Group 110) that include lists of deaths, lists of discharges, registers of regiments and detachments, registers of bounties, correspondence, reports, and other records. For access to these records, please contact the National Archives at New York (RE-NY) via email at newyork.archives@nara.gov.
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic and pursuant to guidance received from the Office of Management and Budget (OMB), NARA has adjusted its normal operations to balance the need of completing its mission-critical work while also adhering to the recommended social distancing for the safety of NARA staff. As a result of this re-prioritization of activities, you may experience a delay in receiving an initial acknowledgement as well as a substantive response to your reference request from RDT1 & RE-NY. We apologize for this inconvenience and appreciate your understanding and patience.
We hope this information is helpful. Best of luck with your research!

Elliot Schneider Sep 21, 2020 8:20 AM (in response to V Hermann)V Hermann,
Are you looking for the Specific Order that was issued or do you currently have a copy or original of the order. It might be helpful to provide individuals name, and or anything else you can provide.
Thanks,
Elliot
