Seeking information about Wellington H Jackson

    Eric Daus Newbie

How do I find more information on my California pioneer ancestor, Wellington H, Jackson.  He arrived from possibly Canada in 1850.  He panned for gold near Camptonville, Yuba County, California.  His son, Hartley Everett Jackson, Sr., was probably born in Sacramento, CA.  He is buried in Alta Mesa Cemetery in Palo Alto, CA.  Specifically, I want to know the following:  1. Was he the son of James Jackson of St. Andrews, New Brunswick, Canada?  2.  When was he naturalised?   3.  What means of transportation did he use to arrive - purser's passenger manifests from sailing vessels, purchase records from sutlers on wagon trails, Port of San Francisco records, etc.  4. Who was his wife, also buried in Alta Mesa Cemetery?
