Dear Mr. Jeschonnek,
Thank you for posting your question on History Hub!
We searched the National Archives Catalog and located numerous series related to the III Corps and Fort Hood in the Records of U.S. Army Operational, Tactical, and Support Organizations (World War II and Thereafter) (Record Group 338) that may contain the information you seek. They include publications, organization planning files, decimal files, subject files, emergency planning files, training operations files, and more. We also located the series Training Operations Files, 11/1992-12/1993 and Training Operations Files and Publications, 1991-1993 in the Records of the U.S. Army Forces Command (Record Group 555) that were created by the III Corps’ Office of the Assistant Chief of Staff, G-3 at Fort Hood. These records have not been digitized. For additional information about or access to these records, please contact the National Archives at College Park - Textual Reference (RDT2) via email at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic and pursuant to guidance received from the Office of Management and Budget (OMB), NARA has adjusted its normal operations to balance the need of completing its mission-critical work while also adhering to the recommended social distancing for the safety of NARA staff. As a result of this re-prioritization of activities, you may experience a delay in receiving an initial acknowledgement as well as a substantive response to your reference request from RDT2. We apologize for this inconvenience and appreciate your understanding and patience.
Finally, the U.S. Army Heritage and Education Center, 950 Soldiers Drive, Carlisle, PA 17013, has a large collection of published unit histories. You may wish to contact them for further assistance.
We hope this is helpful. Best of luck with your research!
Thank you very much for the Information. I will follow your recommendations.
