Mrs. Alex O'Neil was a 51 year old widow in Northumberland County, Pennsylvania. Her oldest son was convicted in a Molly Maguire murder case in August 1878. I would like to know if the $.60 she received in medicine aid was for common ailments or perhaps laudanum for anxiety as the family awaited a request for commutation of his death sentence.
