We searched the National Archives Catalog and located "Report from America" Films , ca. 1960 - ca. 1970. Despite the approximate dates given in the Catalog description, the series does include films from the 1950s. Based on your description of the episode you are seeking, it may be “Report from America: Buying a House” which has the identifier 306-RFA-11. Please note that this film has not been digitized and NARA has suspended reproduction and digitization services until further notice due to COVID-19. Also, National Archives research rooms are currently closed.
