Welcome to History Hub
I found a marriage certificate from 1901 for Thomas Tinline and Margaret McDonald (father's name Brodie} shows she was a widow.
This is from familysearch.org..it is a free site but you need to register to search.
Thank you Alice.
I'm afraid hat this marriage is too early for my cousin who did not arrive in New Jersey until 1921.
She married within 3 months so I guess that her husband was known to her in UK and he'd preceded her in emigrating. I have looked for suitable immigrants in the previous 2 or 3 years but haven't found a suitable candidate yet.
Thanks again for your response.
Hi again Graham,
Found an Ellis Island Passenger Arrival list with your cousin's info.
I believe I have the right one this time.

Dear Mr. Brodie,
Thank you for posting your request on History Hub!
The Federal Government does not ordinarily create or maintain birth, death, marriage or divorce records. Such records are made and kept by State and local governments rather than the National Archives. We suggest that you request a copy of her marriage certificate from the New Jersey State Department of Health Vital Records Office.
We hope this is helpful. Best of luck with your family research!
