Re: Seeking addresses where father & family lived
Alice Lane Jul 7, 2020 12:13 PM (in response to Stuart Koenig)Hi Stuart,
Welcome to History Hub
You might find your family in the 1940 Census https://www.familysearch.org/1940census/
familysearch.org is a free site you just need to register to search.
Unfortunately the 1950 Census will not be available until 2022.
You can also check the City Directories at ancestry.com it is a pay site but you can get a free triall.

Dear Mr. Koenig,
Thank you for posting your request on History Hub!
We searched the National Archives Catalog and located the Population Schedules for the 1940 Census in the Records of the Bureau of the Census (Record Group 29) that include listings for your particular state and county. These schedules are digitized and available using the Catalog. See NARA’s 1940 Census Records web page for more information. Also, the 1940 U.S. Federal Census is available online for free through FamilySearch and Ancestry.
Most cities and counties have yearly directories for residents. Some of these directories are indexed by address but most are alphabetically by last name. We suggest you consult the FamilySearch wiki on United States Directories for these resources..
We hope this is helpful. Best of luck with your family research!
