Seeking trial records for 1917 arrest by US Marshals for sedition

Based on newspaper clippings, a farmer and his son from Maple Park, Illinois, were arrested in December 1917 for seditious remarks. The arrests were made by a US Marshal deputy. Witnesses appeared in a Chicago trial on either December 28 or December 30, 1917, and the trial was continued until January 12, 1918. I believe these cases were heard in special federal courts. Where could I look for the trial records? I'm a novice at searching archives, so I would appreciate any guidance. Thank you!
