Sometimes it is a glitch in the system and sometimes someone actually is working on the page. What I do when that happens is to go back to the page later or the next time I log on. Once in a while if I log off and log back on it clears the page. Also, at the bottom of the page you can click Have questions? Then click Technical Questions and you can send a link to the page to the Community managers who can clear the page for you.

Thanks, Henry, for the several good options. Since my problem, I have discovered that the work I entered did not disappear, which was the glitch I was mostly worried about. I also think it sometimes confuses the system when I open the web page in a second window, so as to allow for a 'view image' mode where I can enlarge it more.
Just make sure to save your work if you switch between pages. Otherwise you may lose your work.
