We searched the National Archives Catalog and located the Logbooks of U.S. Navy Ships and Stations, 1941 - 1983 in the Records of the Bureau of Naval Personnel (Record Group 24) that include the deck log of the USS Queenfish (SS-393) for 11 March 1944 through 1 March 1963.
We also located the Ship and Correspondence Files, 1942 - 1945 in the Records of Naval Operating Forces (Record Group 313) containing administrative and operational records documenting the activities of Submarine Squadron Ten in the Pacific Ocean during World War II, to include the USS Queenfish; Confidential, Restricted and Unclassified General Administrative Files, 1944 - 1946 in Record Group 313 that includes proceedings of the general courts martial relating to the sinking of the Awa Maru by the USS Queenfish; and Navy Unit and Presidential Unit Commendations Case Files, 1942 - 1963 in Record Group 24 that includes a Presidential Unit Citation File for the USS Queenfish (SS-393). The SSN-651 hull number listed in the Catalog for this file is an error.
