familysearch.org has a record of your father's birth (no actual certificate) they also have a family tree with your father's name as Anthony J Alberto.
family search is a free website...you will need to become a member to search.
Hope this helps,
I have created a family tree on family search.org, and am aware that they have a record of his birth, with no actual certificate. I am also a subscriber to Ancestry.com
My father's correct name on the FS tree is ANTHONY J. ROBERTO, not ALBERTO.
My grandparents, along with many other foreign immigrants were either illiterate.or couldn't speak English. Names were incorrectly recorded by the governing authority and often spelled phonetically. In this case, his name was incorrectly recorded as Antonio Roberts.
Unfortunately, our current family name, ROBERTO, appears differently on various records and sources as: ROBERT, ROBERTS, ROBERTI, AND ROBERLI.
Thank you for trying to help with this!
Best regards, Joan

Dear Ms. Curran,
Thank you for posting your request on History Hub!
The Federal Government does not ordinarily create or maintain birth, death, marriage or divorce records. Such records are made and kept by State and local governments rather than the National Archives.
We hope this is helpful. Best of luck with your family research!
