Dear Ms. Florimonte,
Thank you for posting your request on History Hub!
We searched the National Archives Catalog and located Compiled Service Records of Soldiers Who Served in the American Army During the Revolutionary War in the War Department Collection of Revolutionary War Records (Record Group 93). Portions of this series have been digitized and may be searched and viewed online using the Catalog. We also located Compiled Service Records of American Naval Personnel Who Served in the Revolutionary War in Record Group 93. However, the compiled service records do not make note of whether someone is a Huguenot.
In addition, we located Case Files of Pension and Bounty-Land Warrant Applications Based on Revolutionary War Service, ca. 1800 - ca. 1912 in the Records of the Department of Veterans Affairs (Record Group 15). These files sometimes provide additional information about a veteran and his family. Portions of this series have been digitized and may be searched and viewed online using the Catalog.
To order records of specific individuals that are not already available through the Catalog, please fill out a NATF Form 86 for the service records and a NATF Form 85 for the pension records and mail the completed forms to the address listed on the form. You also may place your order online using eservices.archives.gov. For more information see Requesting Copies of Older (pre-WWI) Military Service Records.
Please note that the National Archives and Records Administration (NARA) has suspended reproduction and digitization services until further notice due to COVID-19. Orders will not be serviced until operations can resume safely. Once operations resume, document reproduction requests will be filled in the order in which they were received. We apologize for any inconvenience.
As part of our on-going commitment to preserve our records, the National Archives has entered into partnerships with Ancestry and Fold3 to digitize some of NARA's holdings. The service and pension records are now available in digital form and can be viewed online via Ancestry as the data collection U.S. Compiled Revolutionary War Military Service Records, 1775-1783 and U.S., Revolutionary War Pension and Bounty-Land Warrant Application Files, 1800-1900.
In response to the COVID-19 pandemic, the National Archives has partnered with Ancestry to make the vast majority of their NARA-digitized holdings freely available to the public. Anyone with Internet access may create an account, access NARA records, and use other Ancestry resources, such as their educational offerings and family tree-maker application. For more information see Ancestry’s announcement -- “Free At-Home Education Resources From Ancestry® and Access to Nearly 500M National Archives Records”.
We also searched online and located The Effects of the Huguenot Diaspora on the American
Revolution. While it does not provide a comprehensive list of Huguenots, it does list some Huguenots and may be of interest. The bibliography may suggest additional avenues for research on this topic.
We hope this information is helpful. Best of luck with your research!
