I have reason to believe that LCDR Spencer Eddy, who was also a US Diplomat, established the first Office of Naval Intelligence office in New York City circa 1916. At the end of WWI, he reported wrote a manuscript of book entitled "History and Anecdotes of the New York Branch of the Office of Naval Intelligence (ONI) 1916- 1918." The book was self published and I am trying to locate a copy. Any leads you could provide would be appreciated. Thanks in advance for your assistance.
