I served as company corpsmen, with 2nd BN 7th Marines, in Desert Storm, after returning home I got out of the Navy. During the deployment, we liberated Kuwait, on foot through mind fields and then assaults on airports, bunkers etc. I was informed by the unit NCO that a Combat Action Ribbon (CAR) would be given as we received and returned small arms fire with Iraqi soldiers. Since in the Navy and attached to the (2/7) Marine unit, I was informed that only the Navy would have records of CAR issued. Any help in ascertaining if the unit issued CAR to corpsmen assigned in 1991 Kuwait liberation.
