Dear Ms. Lawyer,
Thank you for posting your request on History Hub!
We are unaware of a single, consolidated list of all US Navy personnel who were involved in Operation Dominic I. The Defense Threat Reduction Agency has made available online a report by its predecessor organization, the Defense Nuclear Agency, on Operation Dominic I. Chapter 9 discusses US Navy participation and lists the US navy ships and units involved. We searched the National Archives Catalog and located Muster Rolls and Personnel Diaries of U.S. Navy Ships, Stations, and Other Naval Activities, 1/1/1949 - 12/31/1971 in the Records of the Bureau of Naval Personnel (Record Group 24). Portions of this series have been digitized and can be searched and viewed online through the Catalog by name of ship. The remainder of this series is not yet available online. If you need assistance locating the muster roll of a specific organization, please post a follow-up request here on History Hub or contact National Archives at College Park - Textual Reference (RDT2) via email at Archives2reference@nara.gov.
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic and pursuant to guidance received from the Office of Management and Budget (OMB), NARA has adjusted its normal operations to balance the need of completing its mission-critical work while also adhering to the recommended social distancing for the safety of NARA staff. As a result of this re-prioritization of activities, you may experience a delay in receiving an initial acknowledgement as well as a substantive response to your reference request from RDT2. We apologize for this inconvenience and appreciate your understanding and patience.
We hope this information is helpful. Best of luck with your research!
