Re: Seeking information about Mary Mosier
Alice Lane May 1, 2020 5:46 PM (in response to Lora Schramm)Hi Lora,
I searched on familysearch.org and found John and Mary's son Arthur's wedding certificate and it list his mother's maiden name as Mary Sherman. Could not find one for his parents.

1 person found this helpfulDear Ms. Schramm,
Thank you for posting your request on History Hub!
Since Pennsylvania was settled prior to the establishment of the United States, and thus most tribal nations were forced out, there are no federally recognized tribes in the state nor federal records on Native Americans from there. Typically a tribal member would have to be on a reservation to be captured in the various American Indian records in the custody of the National Archives.
We suggest that you begin your Native American search by reviewing NARA’s Researching an Individual or Family web pages. You also may wish to use the FamilySearch wiki for American Indians and the Native Languages of the Americas website for Native American Tribes of Pennsylvania.
For birth, marriage, and death records of Mary Mosier, we suggest reviewing the pages on the FamilySearch wiki for Luzerne County, Pennsylvania that will indicate where these records may be located.
We hope this is helpful. Best of luck with your family research.
