Hello, I need help and confirmation if the 382nd Infantry Regiment, 96th Infantry Division [file 396-INF(382)-0.1] has 100 pages of S-1 regimental records and possibly additional Regiment records. Thanks,

          Dear Mr. Schneider,

Thank you for posting your request on History Hub!

Under the filing system used by the World War II Operations Reports, 1940-1948 in the Records of the Adjutant General's Office, 1917-1981 (Record Group 407), -0.1 typically designates unit histories. S1 records are usually in -1.1 or -1.1x file designation. For example, the designation for general orders is -1.13, which is a S1 record. To request a search for S1 records and a page count of any responsive records, please contact the National Archives at College Park - Textual Reference (RDT2) via email at archives2reference@nara.gov.

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic and pursuant to guidance received from the Office of Management and Budget (OMB), NARA has adjusted its normal operations to balance the need of completing its mission-critical work while also adhering to the recommended social distancing for the safety of NARA staff. As a result of this re-prioritization of activities, you may experience a delay in receiving an initial acknowledgement as well as a substantive response to your reference request from RDT2. We apologize for this inconvenience and appreciate your understanding and patience.
