    Transcribing Interchangeable V/S

    Noah Diekemper Newbie

In early modern documents (as in the Herencia project), do I transcribe the interchangeable V/U as they were originally printed, or (since the purpose is machine-searchable documents) as they should be understood as distinct letters? E.g., do I type "FLAVIVS" or "FLAVIUS"?
