The Federal Government does not ordinarily create or maintain death records. Such records are made and kept by State and local governments rather than the National Archives. Statewide registration of deaths in Georgia did not begin until 1919. Certain counties maintained records prior to that. These records are still with the counties. a Clodfelter/Clotfelter family tree at www.familysearch.org
