Is it possible to obtain copies of Army Hometown News Center (AHTNC) photos from 1966 that were used as part of the articles being sent to hometown newspapers to be published? My father and his brother were in a picture used in a local newspaper article about them meeting each other again in Vietnam. I was hoping to be able to obtain a higher quality copy of the image than the microfilm copy from the local library of the newspaper itself. I desired such for use in his coming memorial service.
Dear Mr. Rye,
Thank you for posting your request on History Hub!
Photographs of various U.S. Army activities dating from 1940 to 2007 are in the custody of the National Archives at College Park - Still Picture (RDSS). These photographs may include those from Army Hometown News Center (AHTNC). Please contact RDSS via email at stillpix@nara.gov and their web site is https://www.archives.gov/dc-metro/college-park/photographs-dc.html.
We hope this is helpful. Best of luck with your research!
