Dear Ms. Lucke,
Thank you for posting your request on History Hub!
We suggest that you search NARA’s website for tips on how to begin your genealogical research and Census Resources for tips on how to access census records that may are digitized in the National Archives Catalog or available on our partners’ websites as well as how to view them for free at a NARA facility.
Some Virginian counties may have pre-1835 birth, death, marriage, or divorce records in their files. Please see the Virginia Department of Public Health Genealogy – Vital Records website for more information.
No births or deaths were recorded in Kentucky before 1852, except by churches or recorded in family Bibles. There are many collections of books about Kentucky obituaries before 1852 that may be available in libraries, such as “Kentucky Obituaries, 1787-1854” by G. Glen Clift.
We suggest that you review United States Vital Records Genealogy; Early Virginia Marriage Records; Virginia Vital Records Genealogy; Virginia Online Genealogy Records Genealogy; Life, Growth & Development in the Virginia Colony (1700-1760) and Kentucky Vital Records websites for additional information.
We hope this is helpful. Best of luck with your family research!
