We searched the National Archives Catalog and located U.S. Submarine War Patrol Reports, 1941 - 1945 in in the Records of the Office of the Chief of Naval Operations (Record Group 38) Record Group 38 that include the patrol reports of the USS Tautog, December 1941 - June 1942. We also located World War II War Diaries, Other Operational Records and Histories, ca. 1/1/1942 - ca. 6/1/1946 in Record Group 38 which has the USS Tautog War Diary for May 1942 and the USS Tautog War History. The National Archives also has the following records relating to the Tautog which are not online. The Logbooks of U.S. Navy Ships and Stations, 1941 - 1983 in the Records of the Bureau of Naval Personnel (Record Group 24) includes the deck logs of the USS Tautog (SS-199) for May 1942. World War II Action and Operational Reports, 12/7/1941 - 1946 in the Records of the Office of the Chief of Naval Operations (Record Group 38) includes reports submitted by the USS Tautog.
