Article I, Sections 2 and 3 of the Constitution of the United States covers impeachment. Some of the interpretations of the Constitution in regards to impeachment are included in The Federalist No. 65 and Impeachment and the Constitution, by the Congressional Research Service. November 20, 2019 Presidential term limits are established by the 22nd Amendment.

Andrew Jan 30, 2020 6:43 PM (in response to Ray Baker)1 person found this helpfulIf you look at the links in the other reply you will see that there is nothing in the Constitution the provides any consequences for a president or other official that is impeached by the House but not convicted by the Senate. He is not penalized, nor is he allowed an extra term.
Per the 22nd Amendment, "No person shall be elected to the office of the President more than twice."
No exceptions are given.
