Seeking proof that serviceman was deployed to Mogadishu

How can I confirm that a serviceman was deployed to Mogadishu, Somalia?

          Dear Mr. Curry,

Thank you for posting your request on History Hub!

We searched the National Archives Catalog and located Records Relating to Somalia Operations, 1992-1994 in the Records of U.S. Central Command (Record Group 518). The records are not yet digitized and available in the Catalog. For access to these records, please contact the National Archives at College Park - Textual Reference (RDT2) via email at archives2reference@nara.gov.

We also suggest that you obtain a copy of  his Official Military Personnel File (OMPF). OMPFs for those who served in the U.S. Army since October 16, 1992 and prior to October 2002 are in the custody of NARA’s National Personnel Records Center in St. Louis. Please complete a GSA Standard Form 180 and mail it to NARA’s National Personnel Records Center, (Military Personnel Records), 1 Archives Drive, St. Louis, MO 63138-1002. Certain information in the records is not available to the general public without the written consent of the veteran or his next of kin.

You may wish to review the Battle of Mogadishu (1993) website for background information.

We hope this is helpful. Best of luck with your research!
