We have some items of my dad's from WWII Pacific Theater (anti-aircraft artillery). Would old booklets and maps still be considered classified?
Dear Mr. Rader,
Thank you for posting your request on History Hub!
Not all booklets and maps used by the U.S. Army during World War II were classified. If you see “Top Secret,” “Secret,” “Confidential,” or “Restricted” written on the records in your possession, they may have been classified. If so, we suggest that you contact the National Declassification Center (NDC) via email at NDC@nara.gov. Please include as much information about the records as possible, especially dates and the agency.
We hope this is helpful. Best of luck with your research!
