Brenda Orsucci Dec 6, 2019 9:54 PM (in response to Henry Rosenberg)Thank you for your help. I have accessed this information and know all about his life after marrying my great grandma. Unfortunately, we know no information prior to that. I can not find his parents names listed anywhere or his name listed anywhere prior to marriage. Any suggestions on where to look with Arizona not being a state. Thanks again. I really appreciate any help.

Henry Rosenberg Dec 7, 2019 8:56 AM (in response to Brenda Orsucci)1 person found this helpfulSorry, it wasn't clear which records you had. My only suggestion would be to contact Casa Grande or Pinal County in Arizona. Maybe they could direct you to where Harry's birth records might be located.

Henry Rosenberg Dec 9, 2019 3:13 PM (in response to Brenda Orsucci)1 person found this helpfulI was wondering if that was the case considering her name. Any idea which tribe? Not sure if National Archives or the tribes themselves would have records. The name Juanita may also give you a clue as to which tribe if you don't know.

2 people found this helpfulDear Ms. Orsucci,
Thank you for posting your request on History Hub!
We searched the National Archives Catalog and located the Population Schedules for the 1940 Census in the Records of the Bureau of the Census (Record Group 29) for Illinois - Kane County ED 45-54 (Image 18).
We suggest that you request a copy of your father’s Official Military Personnel File (OMPF). OMPFs and individual medical reports for enlisted men of the U.S. Army who were separated from the service after October 1912 and prior to 1955 are in the custody of NARA’s National Personnel Records Center in St. Louis. In many cases where personnel records were destroyed in the 1973 fire, proof of service can be provided from other records such as morning reports, payrolls, and military orders, and a certificate of military service will be issued. Please complete a GSA Standard Form 180 and mail it to NARA’s National Personnel Records Center, (Military Personnel Records), 1 Archives Drive, St. Louis, MO 63138-1002.
Selective Service records for individuals who served after World War I and born before 1960 are in the custody of the National Archives at St. Louis (RL-SL), P.O. Box 38757, St. Louis, MO 63138-0757. There are two types of records: ledgers and cards. The ledgers are in the public domain and not restricted by privacy. The cards are considered personal information and written permission for release, a death certificate, and/or an indication that the information is requested for genealogical purposes should accompany the request for copies of the cards. Please complete Form NA-13172 to request a search of these records.
We also searched Ancestry and located Harry Arthur Trentt as head of household on the 1940 Census with his wife Bernice and children; World War II Draft Registration Card; and his Grave Site in Illinois. There may be a fee for using Ancestry. However, you may view these records online at one of NARA's facilities for free via a NARA PC. For the nearest NARA location, please consult our web page at https://www.archives.gov/locations/. Also, some of the images from Ancestry are available for free on Family Search at https://www.familysearch.org/en/.
We hope this is helpful. Best of luck with your research!

Brenda Orsucci Dec 13, 2019 10:09 AM (in response to Lisha Penn)Hi - I have all of his information after he married my great grandmother. We are looking for information prior to that. Dates ranging from 1907- 1935 or so. Can you tell me why to look in the military records? Just curious - I will look. Thank you for your help.

Dear Ms. Orsucci,
Thank you for posting your follow-up request on History Hub!
Unfortunately, we were unable to locate any additional information in Federal records about your great-grandfather Harry Arthur Trentt beyond what was indicated in the first response.
After locating his WWI draft card registration on Ancestry, we included information about the cards in the custody of the National Archives at Atlanta. Since there was a possibility that he was drafted into the military, we provided information on how to obtain a copy of his Official Military Personnel File (OMPF).
We hope this is helpful.

Re: Seeking records of Harry Arthur Trentt
Alice Lane Jun 3, 2020 3:47 PM (in response to Brenda Orsucci)Hi Brenda,
I was checking older requests on history hub and found yours. Did you get the answer to your questions?
I found the 1940 Census with the family of Harry Trent. The census page shows it was done at the Aurora Village, Mooseheart Illinois and that Harry Trent was working for the WPA..go to the following link to find out about the WPA, https://www.history.com/topics/great-depression/works-progress-administration
Also, Mooseheart Illinois is a charitable organization and a home for children of members or family members of the Moose Club Organization. Click http://www.mooseheart.org/ Mooseheart Illinois to learn about it. Since those were some of the depression years when you are missing information about your family they may have been living at Mooseheart with their large family. Times were tough during that time. Hope this helps if you did not get answers yet.
Also found this on findagrave daughter of Harry and Bernice. Chistine Trentt https://www.findagrave.com/memorial/24679284 Also her family tree on Ancestry with her photo. https://www.ancestry.com/family-tree/person/tree/1513377/person/-986035295/facts
Best Wishes,
Alice Lane
