A number of War Diaries and War Patrol Reports from the USS Tautog (SS-199) have been digitized and are available in the National Archives Catalog: https://catalog.archives.gov/search?q=%22USS%20Tautog%22&rows=100 , however this does not appear to include any entries from 1945.
Here's an example of 1 page excerpted from the Tautog's 12th War Patrol Report:

1 person found this helpfulDear Mr. Wendt,
Thank you for posting your request on History Hub!
We searched the National Archives Catalog and located 3 series: the Logbooks of U.S. Navy Ships and Stations, 1941 - 1983 in the Records of the Bureau of Naval Personnel (Record Group 24) that includes the deck logs of the USS Tautog (SS-199) for 1945 as well as earlier dates; World War II Action and Operational Reports, 12/7/1941 - 1946 in the Records of the Office of the Chief of Naval Operations (Record Group 38) that includes reports submitted by the USS Tautog; and Navy Unit and Presidential Unit Commendations Case Files, 1942 - 1963 in Record Group 24 that includes a file unit titled [1941-1945] USS Tautog (SS-199). For access to and/or copies of the records listed above, please contact the National Archives at College Park - Textual Reference (RDT2) via email at archives2reference@nara.gov.
We also located World War II War Diaries, Other Operational Records and Histories, ca. 1/1/1942 - ca. 6/1/1946 in the Records of the Office of the Chief of Naval Operations (Record Group 38) contains war diaries, a war history, war patrol reports, and other reports concerning the USS Tautog’s activities during World War 2. These records have been digitized and can be viewed online through the Catalog. Please keep in mind that the Catalog does not always list files in chronological order.
Also, Muster Rolls of U.S. Navy Ships, Stations, and Other Naval Activities, 1/1/1939 - 1/1/1949 in Record Group 24 include the muster rolls of the USS Tautog (SS-199) for 1945 as well as earlier dates. These records have also been digitized and can be viewed online through the Catalog.
Finally, U.S. Submarine War Patrol Reports, 1941 - 1945 in Record Group 38 includes war patrol reports of the USS Tautog from December 1941 through February 1945. These records have been digitized and can be viewed online through the Catalog.
We hope this information is helpful. Best of luck with your family research!
