Re: Seeking personnel data cards for Co E, 1st Battalion (BT)

Dear Ms. Hillman,
Thank you for posting your request on History Hub!
Personnel Strength Zero Balance Reports (or SIDPERS C-27 Reports) replaced the Morning Report in 1974. The two major functions of the C-27 Report are for strength accounting and to correct the duty status of each member of the Army unit on the last day of each month. SIDPERS C-27 Reports for the period in which you are interested are in the custody of NARA’s National Personnel Records Center in St. Louis. Please complete a GSA Standard Form 180 and it mail to NARA’s National Personnel Records Center, (Military Personnel Records), 1 Archives Drive, St. Louis, MO 63138-1002.
We hope this is helpful. Best of luck with your research!

I received a response from NPRC at St. Louis which stated "SIDPERS was not located and likely was not maintained within the veteran's military personnel records." I received this today, so I will call them tomorrow.

Elliot Schneider Jan 14, 2020 1:39 PM (in response to nittanyr001)Trina,
They will not have morning reports and PDC in the military files. Also please note that request should be in the form of three month format, for example Jun-Aug. Those request need to be using SF-180 form. In order to request records, please send your request with the pertinent information such as unit and dates requested to the address below.
