Looking for information on my Grandfather

He joined the French Legion and was transferred to 4 SFU a unit controlled by the OSS this was on the 7th of June 1943 this was in Alger, Algeria. He went on many missions with this group but I can't find much...not sure where to look.

Thank you for posting your request on History Hub!

We searched the National Archives Catalog and located three series titled Algiers, Athens...and Washington Headquarters Files, 1942-1945; Central Files, 1941 -1946 (Box 622, Folder 4); and 3 file units from the series Security Classified General Correspondence in the Records of the Office of Strategic Services (Record Group 226) that includes information on the OSS in Algeria. For access to and/or copies of these documents, please contact the National Archives at College Park - Textual Reference (RDT2) via email at archives2reference@nara.gov.

We also located this article from the Office of the Command Historian that pertains to the OSS influence on Special Forces.
