Dear Ms. Dente,
Thank you for posting your inquiry on History Hub!
We searched the National Archives Catalog for any records on Wolfgang Kaskeline, Kurt Rupli, Werner Haftmann, and Gustav Winter. The search did not produce any results for Wolfgang Kaskeline, Kurt Rupli, and Werner Haftmann. However, the search for “Winter, Gustav” produced the following results.
We also search available finding aids for any records relating to Wolfgang Kaskeline, Kurt Rupli, Werner Haftmann, and Gustav Winter in the series titled “Intelligence and Investigative Dossiers Personal Files, ca. 1977-ca. 2004” in the Records of the Army Staff (Record Group 319). Were were not able to locate any files on the individuals you are interested in.
In addition, we searched finding aids for any records on these individuals in the series titled “First Release of Name Files Under the Nazi War Crimes and Japanese Imperial Goverment Disclosure Acts, ca. 9/19/1947-1999” in the Records of the Central Intelligence Agency (Record Group 263). Unfortunately, we were unable to locate any files on these individuals.
Also, we would suggest looking into microfilmed “Records Relating to the Activities of the Reichskulturkammer (RKK)” in the National Archives Collection of Foreign Records Seized (Record Group 242) as they may contain records of interest to you. These records are available on Microfilm Publication A3339 and can be viewed free of charge in the Microfilm Reading Room at the National Archives at College Park, MD. Prior to your visit, please consult College Park websites at https://www.archives.gov/dc-metro/college-park/, https://www.archives.gov/dc-metro/self-service-copying.html, and https://www.archives.gov/research/start/getting-started.pdf.
We hope this information is helpful. Best of luck with your research!
Dear Ms. Naylor, Thank you for this information. I will probably have to get to National Archives in January of 2020 to do more research!
