Dear Ms. Meinke,
Thank you for posting your request on History Hub!
We searched the National Archives Catalog and located two series Photographs Related to Embassies, Consulates, and Other Overseas Buildings, 1945-2006 in the General Records of the Department of State (Record Group 59); and Master File Photographs of U.S. and Foreign Personalities, World Events, and American Economic, Social, and Cultural Life, 1953-1994 in the Records of the U.S. Information Agency (Record Group 306). Some photographs are digitized and available for you to review in the Catalog but not all. For access to and/or copies, please contact the National Archives at College Park - Still Picture (RDSS) via email at stillpix@nara.gov.
We suggest that you search these websites: Art in Embassies Registry - U.S. Department of State; Art in Embassies Program; The Diplomatic Pouch; and Legislation to Cut Art in Ambassies for additional information.
You may also wish to review these books, Art in Embassies Program = Art dans les ambassades; and Art in Embassies: Twenty Five Years at the U.S Department of State.
We hope this is helpful. Best of luck with your research!
