You would need to know which railroad company you are looking for. As there was and is no legal requirement that employee records of private corporations be retained permanently, it can be hit and miss as to what if anything is available. However according to the following article, there are records available for at least some time periods of some companies.

The records are not yet digitized and available in the Catalog.
