"This series primarily consists of command chronologies of U.S. Marine Corps units that served during the time of the Vietnam Conflict, and includes the records of those units that served in Vietnam as well as domestically and throughout the world. Most of these chronologies include four common sections of information: organizational data, narrative summaries of events, accomplishments and losses, sequential listings of significant events within the unit, and supporting documentation. More extensive chronologies include lists of commanders, lists of staff officers, lists of location(s) where units were stationed, lists of awards and training received, lists of operations participated in, situation reports, and records relating to community relations activities."

Dear Mr. Leonard,
Thank you for posting your request on History Hub!
We searched the National Archives catalog and located a series titled Command Chronologies and Related Documentation, 4/1962 - 6/1987 in the Records of the U.S. Marine Corps (Record Group 127) that contains information for the 2nd Marine Division in Boxes 26 and 27. We also located the series Muster Rolls and Personnel Dairies, 1/1941 - 12/1980 in Record Group 127 that may include listings of those who served in the 2nd Marine Division. For access to and/or copies of these reports, please contact the National Archives at College Park - Textual Reference (RDT2) via email at archives2reference@nara.gov.
Additionally, if the records above do not provide the information you seek, we suggest you contact the Marine Corps History Division, 3078 Upshur Avenue, Quantico, VA 22134. The web site is https://www.mcu.usmc.mil/historydivision/SitePages/Home.aspx.
We hope this is helpful! Best of luck with your research!
