Dear Mr. Todesco,
Thank you for posting your request on History Hub!
We searched the National Archives Catalog and located the Population Schedules for the 1920 Census in the Records of the Bureau of the Census (Record Group 29). Digital images of the 1920 census records are not available in the Catalog yet for Pennsylvania but are digitized and available on Ancestry. We were unable to locate any census listings for her in Grand Rapids, Michigan and were also unable to locate her on the 1930 Census. We also located Passenger and Crew Lists of Vessels Arriving at New York, New York, 6/16/1897-7/3/1957 but digitized images for the ship that she arrived on is also not available yet.
However, on Ancestry, we located your grandmother Martha’s 1909 arrival New York on Passenger Ship Noordam; and on the 1920 Census living with her husband in Pennsylvania. There may be a fee for using Ancestry but you may view these records online at one of NARA's facilities for free via a NARA PC. For the nearest NARA location, please consult our web page at https://www.archives.gov/locations/. Some of the images from Ancestry sometimes are available on Family Search for free. Please see NARA’s website Immigration Records for additional information.
We were unable to locate any records for your mother’s birth without having her full name. Therefore, we suggest that you search Ancestry for a listing of her birth with the information that you have available.
We hope this is helpful. Best of luck with your family research!
