Seeking proof that friend landed in DaNang

I am looking to discover that my friend landed in DaNang before being helicoptered to a naval ship off the coast of Vietnam. Am looking to prove he had "boots on the ground". He served as an Intelligent Officer with TacRon 13.

          Dear Mr. Scott,

Thank you for posting your question on History Hub!

We searched the National Archives Catalog and located 22 file units and 8 items for Da Nang Air Base.  The search results can be viewed here.

TACRON THIRTEEN was redesignated TACRON TWELVE in 1955.  For more information, please view the “History of the Tactical Air Control Squadron Twelve.”

Also, you might want to contact the Naval History & Heritage Command since command histories for aviation squadrons dated after WWII are in the custody of the Naval Aviation History Branch, Naval History & Heritage Command, 805 Kidder Breese Street, SE, Washington Navy Yard, Washington, DC 20374-5060 for access to these histories.

We hope this information is helpful.  Best of luck with your research!
