We searched and located a book titled Turncoats, Traitors, and Heroes by John Bakeless that included the following citations on page 384:
“Papers of John La Grange Mersereau (S-7217), John Mersereau (W-17137) and Joshua Mersereau, Jr. (S-7234) in Nat. Arch.” and ”The elder Joshua Mersereau has no record in Nat. Archiv.” -- We searched the National Archives Catalog and located the series Case Files of Pension and Bounty-Land Warrant Applications Based on Revolutionary War Service in the Records of the Department of Veterans Affairs (Record Group 15) that included several files pertaining to the Mersereau family and associates.
