Due to a planned power outage, most Library of Congress websites will be unavailable from 5 p.m. ET, Friday, Aug. 9 through Sunday, Aug. 11. The Architect of the Capitol will be conducting essential maintenance on the Library's Capitol Hill campus from Friday, Aug. 9 through Sunday, Aug. 11, resulting in power outages that will require this website downtime.

By the People (crowd.loc.gov) is a cloud-based website and should be available during this time. However, the outage may result in some image display issues as well as broken links. I know many of you also use loc.gov resources in your research while transcribing, so be prepared to go without for a few days.

Our apologies for this necessary inconvenience! Normal service should resume by Monday, August 12 (good thing too because we're kicking off a new review challenge... stay tuned!)
