Did all receive the Combat Action Ribbon?

    Bill Streifer Adventurer

The Combat Action Ribbon was issued to the members of ships (like the USS Enterprise) that responded to the January 23, 1968 Pueblo Incident. I want to know if members of the submarines that similarly responded (such as the USS Swordfish, USS Segundo, and USS Ronquil) had also received the Combat Action Ribbon. If so, I'm looking for the names of all submarines and crew who received the ribbon.

          Dear Mr. Streifer,

Thank you for posting your request on History Hub!

The records that you are interested in are not part of the holdings of the National Archives and Records Administration (NARA).

You may want to contact the Awards and Decorations Branch of the U.S. Navy.  The address is Navy and Marine Corps Awards Office, Chief of Naval Operations (DNS35), 2000 Navy Pentagon, Washington, DC 20350-2000; (202) 685-1770 and their website is  http://awards.navy.mil. If the Combat Action Ribbons were issued, they would be classified.

We hope this information is helpful.  Best of luck with your research!
