Dear Ms. Shelton,
Thanks for posting your request on History Hub!
We searched the National Archives Catalog and located the Index to War of 1812 Pension Application Files which is the information you have. We also located the War of 1812 Pension and Bounty Land Warrant Application Files in the Records of the Department of Veterans Affairs, 1773 - 2007 (Record Group 15). Some of the files have been digitized and available via the Catalog. Please click on the second link above and search for the file. If it is not, please complete a NATF Form 85 and mail it to the National Archives at Washington, DC or order it online. The pension files are also available online via Ancestry or Fold3 for a fee or you may view these records online at one NARA's facilities for free via ALIC. For the nearest NARA location, please consult our web page at https://www.archives.gov/locations/. Some of the images from Ancestry are available for free on Family Search at https://www.familysearch.org/en/.
We also suggest that you search FamilySearch’s website at https://www.familysearch.org/wiki/en/How_to_Find_Connecticut_Birth_Records for how to locate birth records for Stephen Harrison Baker. After about 1850, birth information was only placed in town records and are described further in Connecticut Town Records. The State of Indiana kept death records before 1882. For deaths that occurred before 1882, please try the following database at http://www.genealogycenter.info/search_pre1882deaths.php
We hope this information is helpful. Best of luck with your family research!
